Assign Your Dog a Special Role

One of the most delightful ways to include your dog in your wedding is by giving them an official role. Here are a few popular options:

  • Ring Bearer: Attach a decorative pillow or secure the rings safely on their collar.

  • Flower Dog: Have them trot down the aisle with a floral arrangement on their harness.

  • Best Dog or Dog of Honor: Let them stand by your side during the ceremony.

Make sure to practice ahead of time so your dog feels comfortable with their role.

Incorporate Them in Your Photos

Even if your dog isn’t part of the ceremony, they can still be a star in your wedding photos. Let your photographer know in advance that your dog will be present so they can plan accordingly and capture the best moments. Include them in your:

  • First Look: A fun, candid moment with your pup.

  • Couple Portraits: Pose with your dog to capture the joy of your day.

  • Wedding Party Shots: Feature them alongside your bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Provide Pet Care and a Comfortable Space

Your wedding day will be busy, so designate someone to care for your dog and create a cozy, quiet spot where they can relax during the festivities. Plan to:

  • Hire a professional pet handler/sitter OR assign a trusted friend or family member to handle potty breaks, feeding, and supervision.

  • Setting up a space in our on-site bridal suites with a soft bed or blanket, familiar toys, and plenty of water.

We love to see your dog join you for the ceremony and photos to capture special moments, but plan to have them moved to a designated suite or taken off the venue afterward to ensure they are safe and comfortable during festivities, as we have other animals on our property. This approach allows you to relax, knowing your dog is safe and cared for.

Add Dog-Themed Decor

Subtle nods to your love for your dog can enhance your wedding theme. Ideas include:

  • Signature Cocktails: Name a drink after your dog.

  • Custom Cake Toppers: Feature a figurine of your dog on your cake.

Final Thoughts

Incorporating your dog into your wedding adds love, joy, and a unique personal touch to your day. With a bit of planning, you can create a celebration that’s memorable for you, your guests, and your furry best friend. So, get ready to say "I do" with your dog by your side — it’s sure to be paws-itively perfect!
